Major Arcana · XIV
The middle path is the skillful one: mix, moderate, and adjust by degrees. Small calibrations beat grand swings.
Extremes are pulling the mixture off balance. Return to the ratio that actually works for you.
The same card angles differently depending on what you bring to it.
Temperance is the art of the workable mixture: not all of one thing, not none of the other, but the blend that actually functions. Extremes feel decisive and cost you the middle where life mostly happens. This week rewards small calibrations — a degree warmer, a notch slower. Pick the area where you have been swinging between poles and adjust it by one click, not ten.
Reversed, Temperance shows the mixture off: too much of something good, too little of something necessary, a life alternating between clampdown and spillover. The swing itself is the exhausting part. You are not being asked for discipline; you are being asked for a ratio. Find the one input currently oversupplied — work, feed, worry — and reduce it by a visible fraction this week.
